I love peas. and fall break.

I really really really do. love fall break that is. This year, I headed to Cheeseland with Miss Giesige. We embarked on the adventure of the Giesige family in Greendale, Wisconsin, which consists of Chelsea, John and Jan Giesige in residence. I love Jan Giesige's cooking, ps.

Chelsea is hilarious. She and Julie are pretty much the same person, meaning I love them both (in addition to the rest of the fam). Chelsea got her license on Monday, so Jules and I made cupcakes:)

On Saturday we went to a marching band competition, where I discovered that Wisconsin marching band is WAAAYY more hardcore than Michigan's. Greendale did an awesome job though, I was very very impressed.

On Sunday, Julie and I went to the Wisconsin Dells, which consisted of Ripley's Believe it or Not, a Haunted Mansion, and Pirate's Cove Minigolf. There is NO wax museum. I was so upset that it closed, but apparantly they opened this exciting new place called Wizard Quest. I know it was exciting, cause there were kids running down the street, arms in the air, screaming "WWWWIIIIZAAAARD QUEEEEEESSSTT!!" They were pretty excited, so I thought shoot why shouldn't I be?? Then I remembered, there was no wax museum :(

Tuesday morning Mrs. Giesige and Julie and I went on the Miller Brewery tour, which was amazing. It was the location where I discovered my new favorite beer: Apple Spic. It was soooo good.

All and all it was a very exciting trip, most of which is severely understated in this post. but trust me, you just wouldn't understand all the inside jokes!!

it's good to be back :)

Exhibit A:

(Leah, Me, Jules and Jessica on Leah's birthday @ The Brown Jug)

welcome week (or weekend rather) is nearly over, bringing a close to the summer. this one was definitely filled with a lot of surprises, mostly good, but it was crazy all the same. I'm definitely glad to be back in a routine again, although it may be new, along with a new apartment slash roommate that I love!!
(Me and Dave @ his house last night)

it's going to be a great year :)

time in a bottle

are you ready for the biggest update ever??

so if you scroll down the page, you'll notice that I've deleted all the lame and delusional postings that I put up forever ago, because no one needs to notice how much of a loser I was a year or two ago :) And Jules, I promise, even though I didn't do a very good job keeping up this summer (PS I was in the freakin mountains) I'll do better keeping things going during the year!!

I went to Brevard, NC for a music festival this summer, much to Julie's dismay. I was there for 7 weeks and played a lot of trumpet and orchestra and all that other good stuff. it was a last minute thing, like I got a call from Prof Campbell and I was on a flight the next day (after quitting three jobs, NOT FUN). I missed two family weddings and SAI national convention, but I'm sure that everyone would agree that I made the best decision. plus it was a blast :)

we definitely worked hard, but played hard too (as you can see!!) we met some great people and it's an experience I wouldn't mind repeating again next summer, with a little bit more planning.

AND it was beautiful :) I lived on the side of a mountain all summer. Then we got back to Michigan and realized there weren't mountains behind Taco Bell. It was crazy. (ps, more pictures are on my facebook profile, under random lyrics from Faith Hill's "good times, sunshine and summertime")

upon my return from Brevard, Julie and I made a field trip to EL to celebrate my belated 21st, since I didn't get a chance to do it right in NC :) this night definitely made up for things though.

My brother came out, lots of EL kids were there, miss julie and then a random appearance by AJ and some friends. Other than that there were lots of rounds and karaoke goin down at crunchies, and I definitely wouldn't change or trade that night for anything in the world!!

after the birthday celebration, Julie and I headed up to Kettunen center with the Charlotte Oriole Band and my parents for Dad's band camp. there was a LOT of drama to be had this past week, but Julie and I had so much fun it was ridiculous. I know she'll come back next year because everyone fell in love with her (as people tend to do) the best part was when we were discussing senior serenade at dinner and Dad was saying how if they sang "Time in a Bottle" he was going to throw up. He went on and on about how it was a horrible song, and then a parent chaperone piped up, "Hey, that was the highlight of our wedding, we walked down the aisle to it." I thought I was going to die. So if you hear Jules and I sing in a high breathy voice "time in a bottle!" you know why...

okay, so I think that pretty much sums things up. but, if you'd like to hear more of my adventures of summer 2006, just let me know. there were plenty, and I'm stuck @ home for 2 weeks before auditions, classes, and moving in to my new apartment w/ Ali!! (don't even get me started on how happy I am to be out of the highlands!!) keep on smiling Ace Deuce, I'll be back home soon baby :)
